Cooking Well With Diabetes cooking class series will be held on April 1, 8, and 15 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at the South Waco Community Center located at 2815 Speight in Waco. The classes are for people with Diabetes, their family members and caregivers. Those interested in preventing diabetes are also welcome to attend. Every class includes lessons and take-home recipes. Caring for Caregivers program will be held on Monday, March 31, from 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. at the Bledsoe-Miller Recreation Center located at 300 N. MLK Blvd in Waco. Workshops include Senior Fraud, Emotional Challenges of Caregiving, and De-stressing Caregivers. If you register by March 27, you will be entered into a drawing to win free door prizes. A multi-county livestock conference will be held at the Bell County Expo Center on March 27. The theme will be “Rebuilding the Beef Herd” and will address many issues related to the current challenges many producers are facing. Commercial exhibitors will be there with products and industry information. Pre-registration by March 21 is $40 and at the door registration is $50. Registration will include refreshments and lunch. March 4-H Community Service Project – McLennan County 4-H’ers will be colecting items for the Rainbow Room during the month of March The Rainbow room assists abused and neglected children. Items needed are clothing for children, shoes for children, underwear, baby formula, school supplies, hygiene items, beds, car seats, and toiletries. Club delegates or club managers are asked to bring thje collected items to the Extension office prior to or at the April County Council/Adult Taskforce meeting on April 7. Livestock Judging Clinic will be held on March 29 at the Pearce Pavilion in College Station. Cost is $10 per person through March 18 and $15 per person after that date.
